As most of you probably know, the most recent “big thing” in social media is the new Vine app that allows you to create short, looping videos that you can share with your family, colleagues, and friends on networks like Twitter and Facebook after you post it to Vine.

Today I’m going to show you how easy it is to create a cool Vine video that will give you the chance to stand out on social networks and share content that your fans will actually be interested in.

First, you just need to download Vine and sync it to your Twitter and Facebook account. For more information on how to set up Vine, check out our recent blog post on Vine!

Once you have it set up on your phone, start thinking about cool content that you want to share with your fans online! Since Krista recently published her newest book on Visual Social Media Marketing, I thought it’d be a cool idea to make a video showing people what is inside this awesome book!

As you can see in the screenshot below, the first “loop” or recording of this video is just the front of a signed copy of Krista’s book.

Once I recorded the first “loop” I hit the “Next” button and Vine had me record another few seconds to put into the video. So I flipped through the book so that people can see all the cool pictures and content inside.

You can re-record each section as many times as you want until it’s perfect. Once you’re happy with it, click “Next” and Vine will give you the opportunity to give a caption, include some hashtags, and decide what networks you want to share it on! You can also include a location. Once you’re ready, hit “Done” and it will automatically show up on the networks you chose, and people can watch it immediately!

Once you have uploaded it, you even have the option to embed your tweet onto your website! Just click on the “More” option at the bottom of the tweet, click “Embed Tweet” and then copy the code. As you can see below, the embedding code puts the tweet right into our blog post with a link to the video!

The best part about Vine is that it’s really easy to use and it takes less than 5 minutes to set up. If you’re overwhelmed and need some help setting up Vine and getting your Twitter marketing in shape for 2013, try our new Twitter for Business training class!

If you haven’t noticed yet, we’ve been talking a lot about Visual Social Media Marketing and how important it is today to share content that is visually-focused. Online consumers are getting sick of text-heavy blog posts, tweets, and Facebook posts. They want visual: whether it’s through  pictures, images, or video. So Vine is an excellent way to start focusing on visual social media marketing!

Businesses can use this app for all sorts of things: giving a tour around your office, demonstrating your newest product, showing tutorials from happy customers, and more! It’s definitely a great idea to try out this app while it’s still new, so give it a try!
