Here at Boot Camp Digital, we are always doing research on social media and looking at what is most important to keep in mind when creating your social media strategy and action plan. As many of you know, we recently launched a 90-minute Pinterest for Business online training program after getting tons of requests and questions on the “third most popular social network” following Facebook and Twitter.
Krista Neher, our CEO and the head trainer here at Boot Camp Digital, found a lot of interesting statistics on Pinterest that are very important to keep in mind when you are developing your Pinterest strategy. I wanted to share some of them here because I’m sure they will benefit you all as much as they’ve benefited us.
So what do all these statistics mean for your marketing strategy? The most important thing to remember is that you have to keep your audience in mind when you are developing your business or brand’s presence on Pinterest.
People that are referred to your site from your Pinterest board are 10% more likely to buy and will spend 10% more. So make your products interesting and fun on Pinterest – users of this site love color and visually-appealing things. Make sure you are making your boards and your products interesting so that they will continue to spread.
Also pay attention to the most popular categories on Pinterest, and see how you can develop your board to relate to those things. You also need to make it clear to users what you want them to do. Consumers are so much more likely to buy your product or service if you tell them what to do and why they’re doing it.
This information is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to marketing effectively on Pinterest. Just remember these statistics the next time you’re going to update your board, and remember that if you need an in-depth, comprehensive overview of Pinterest and help with an action plan for your business, you can check out our Pinterest online training program.
