Navigating the social media playing field has never been easy. But now that 88% of businesses are active on social networks, it’s even harder to stand out and make your brand heard. After all, every minute of the day:
How are you supposed to stand out when people online are overwhelmed with businesses trying to get their attention left and right? The answer is simple: good content!
You’re not going to be able to change your strategy and start seeing results overnight, but by following these 3 easy steps, you’ll find that you’re getting much better results from your content marketing than you had ever hoped in this day and age with social media!
When someone reads an interesting blog post, it’s almost a guarantee that they will want to share it with their friends. And where are they going to share it? Social networks like Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. But these days, you’re not going to catch anyone’s eye with lots of text and not enough visual content. So with every blog post you create, make sure you include a picture that tells people what it’s about! If you notice, we included a picture in this blog post, so that when someone goes to share it on Pinterest or Facebook, it’s visually appealing and people know what they’re going to see – that way they are much more likely to click on it, and you’ll be sure to get more traffic back to your site!
If your entire Facebook page or Twitter feed is the same thing over and over and over, people aren’t going to keep coming back to it. People on social media like being surprised and consistently introduced to new things. So make sure all of the content that your sharing is constantly switching up. If you’re going to post a link to your blog post one day, post a funny picture the next day, and a link to an interesting article the next day. The key is to make sure that your networks are so filled with appealing content that fans and customers will want to stay on your page and come back to it time and time again.
While good copywriting, interesting posts, and informational blog posts are important, that’s not what is catching people’s attention anymore. People want images, images, images. So if you got a cool new product or have something interesting to say, make the picture of it the focal point – not the text. Whenever we have a big turnout at one of our training programs, we mention it on our Twitter and Instagram, but it never goes without a cool picture!
After reading this, you may have some work to do. And that’s okay! The good news is that most businesses and brands have not yet started paying attention to just how important content – especially visually content – is. Get ahead of all your competition now, while you still have a chance to really stand out. If you need help, you should definitely check out our social media content marketing training!
