Search Ads (PPC): Foundations is a beginner course. In it, you’ll learn how search ads work, how to connect them to your strategy, and their benefits and drawbacks. Search ads are also called PPC (pay-per-click) ads or Google Ads (Google runs more than search ads).

Search ads (ads run in search results on Google, Yahoo!, and Bing) are incredibly powerful but serve a specific role in marketing strategy. We’ll start by understanding their role and why they are important. Then, we’ll dive deep into their strengths and drawbacks. This will allow you to make smarter decisions about incorporating search ads into your strategic plan. You’ll learn the strategic role of search ads and how to know when to use them.

We’ll dive into how search ads work. We’ll start by exploring ad objectives and how to choose the right one. Search ads are primarily used for lower-funnel business goals like driving sales and conversions. You’ll also learn how to set up site conversion goals to increase the quality of site traffic and improve your ROI.

Next, we’ll dive into targeting. Targeting search ads is primarily based on keywords. You’ll learn to use the Google Keyword Planner to research keywords and evaluate their competitiveness.
